Our older hens are feeling much, much better after moving to the new coop. They're getting more color, starting to lay again, and are generally happy. They've turned what was supposed to be an asparagus bed but got infested with weeds and forgotten into their signature dust pit.
The cucumbers are bursting with color. We're gonna be pickling here very soon.
The beets got huge overnight! Not ready to harvest yet though. Neither are the beans. They're still so itty bitty!
Went wine-berry picking with a good friends' little boys. Very hard workers. Very tasty berries, as always.
ps. I missed the rooster's crow. It's a nice addition to our morning now. The old coop was too far away to hear it.

Thank you! I have always wondered what a wineberry looked like, turns out they grow wild in the ally down the street from my house. Now that I know what they are, I'm going to dig up a few small plants and bring them to my back yard so I can have some too.
ReplyDeleteSame here! Wineberries grow almost like weeds in the mid-atlantic and provide several weeks of fruit during July. I'm going to propogate some too.
ReplyDeleteIt's looking lovely and fruitful! Or vegful should I say!
ReplyDeleteAmy (and Harold too), I'm glad to have introduced you to them! They grow everywhere here. Let me know how they transplant.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rohan! ;)
a fruitful harvest!:D
