around these parts, autumn means creativity

So if you've been hanging out with me over on Facebook, you'll know that last night I got a sudden (and somewhat insane) urge to open an Etsy shop... you know... by October 10th, the deadline of my words for the Etsy blog post that will feature our wedding. That means I have exactly two weeks. Not a lot of time, but I think it's possible. Having something productive and goal oriented to do on the internet (besides this blog) makes me much less inclined to screw around all the time.

You know the drill... checking favorite blogs multiple times daily to see if they've been updated with pictures of chickens or chubby babies ;), checking each of your email accounts in case something "urgent" is in the inbox, refreshing facebook so you can look at something and lol, pinteresting it up for hours... Oh how we so willingly squander our creative energy away with this thing called the internet. It's all about how we use it though, right? And also about how we don't use it. Limitation. Balance. I'm gonna go eat some food now and wean myself away from the familiar nighttime glow of the computer screen.

ps. I changed things around over here.

  1. I love your new header, the wider width of your posts (bigger photos!), and what you've done on your portfolio site. You can TOTALLY get up an Etsy shop in two weeks. Just be prepared for the deluge of orders you'll get once you're featured on their blog. ;)

(p.s. I gots new photos on my blog from your wedding weekend.)

  2. Oh I love you Mckenzie! You are such an amazing artist. Every time I see one of your drawings, photographs, or painting I am always in awe of your gift for seeing things in such a unique and beautiful way. I just felt an overwhelming desire to share that with you :)

  3. Good luck with your etsy shop! I love your art and can't wait to see what you put up. I'm also a fan of your new header. Looks great! I've been wanting to do SOMETHING with my blog's look but am always too indecisive. Yours looks so nice and inviting though it might have just pushed me to get things done.

Thanks for sheltering our stew birds in your Flower Hill Chicken Retirement Community for their last days. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
