and suddenly it was a skein of yarn

I now fully understand what spinners mean when they say it's addictive. Last night I went to spin club at the mill, and it was absolutely worth the drive. It's nice to talk to people while you craft with your hands. I feel like our society has lost touch with that, but the mill has held on tight.

ps. I made the red pokeberry wool and fawn alpaca yarn today. It's nice being able to create something tangible and complete in such a short period of time. Once it's roving, it spins up fast! It's gonna be fun to experiment with mixing colors.

  3. Wow, look at you and your skills! It IS so addictive - I have my mother in law's wheel and a friend helped me pick up the basics. But it's been so long and I really should go along to the spinner's and weaver's guild each week. You have re-awakened the addiction (mind you I am also sweating behind my knees as we speak...so maybe it can wait until the weather cools off a bit!!).

  4. Adah, doesn't it?! It's so funny! I still need to "block" it, which is why it's all kinky.

Julie, thank you. It will ALL manifest itself in your life when the time is right. :)

Melania, it still boggles my mind that it's flipping HOT where you are right now. So weird. Get that wheel out lady! I wanna see YOUR skills. ;)

    Kristin, thank you so much.

Anna, thanks! If you ever get the chance to try, you should! It's very soothing.
