"If a woman could see
the sparks of light
going forth from her fingertips when she is cooking
and the substance of light
that goes into the food she handles,
she would be amazed to see
how much of herself
she charges into the meals she prepares
for her family and friends."

It's here! It's finally here! I've written about this for some time now, so you most likely know that I drew the cover art for it. (Front and back.) Julie and I have exchanged emails pretty much every single day since October, and I feel so lucky that she asked me to do this, and even luckier for the beginnings of what I know will be a lifelong friendship. I'm excited to see where we take this quarterly, especially now that I'm considered its Art Editor from here on out! (Ermahgerd!)
I'll keep this short and sweet. Julie is awesome. Her creativity in the kitchen is awesome. Her toddler is awesome (...and possibly the cutest thing I've ever seen.) Her recipes in this winter edition of Seasoned are mouthwatering, nourishing, and centered around family tradition. She poured her entire heart into perfecting them. Gus became a kitchen-baby in the process, and his chubby little fingers can be spotted throughout the photographs. And speaking of photographs, many of mine make an appearance, as well as many from other amazing bloggers! There's simple poetry scattered throughout, along with essays on the subjects of winter, community, family, farming, and friendship. It's good guys, and it's only gonna get better from here on out. Be one of the first to support Seasoned from the very beginning!
Julie's own Seasoned Release post has some insight on her own process, how you will be helping her family (and mine too, I might add) reach our farmy-dreams, and all the details on ways to purchase the quarterly, ranging from an i-pod app, a $6 pdf, or a print copy (!) for $18. And you know what else? She links you to your very own FREE pdf file of a color-me-in winter mandala that's featured on the back cover. And you can send her your own beautiful versions and she'll (or we'll) somehow share them here on our blogs. Haven't worked out the details on that part... such is life!
Spontaneity is freeing!
Thank you for all of your support and excitement about this over the past couple months guys. I'm lucky to have such awesome readers. :)
