some things, at random

+Jamie hung these shelves above our bed! I love that I have a whole "homesteading" section, which obviously wouldn't be complete without the Martha Stewart Living Cookbook (don't judge) and The Sheer Ecstasy of being a Lunatic Farmer (which I have yet to read.)

+The snow is almost all melted now.

+Penelope the duck's eye infection is almost gone!

+You know your cat needs more water in her bowl when she acrobatically climbs up the window and licks condensation off the frame.

+I finally washed the goose down from the bird that Jamie shot earlier this year. It's not much, but I have a couple ideas for it.

+I'm drawing some pretty fun color-me-in valentines.

+I'm also using up some scrap wool felt and making more lavender-lace hearts.

+A word to the wise... If you leave a 14 oz bag of peanut butter cups trail mix next to your bed, it will be gone in under 24 hours. Mindlessly watching episode after episode of Dr. Who may or may not have anything to do with that.

  5. Quite out of the subject, but I got paint for Christmas, and I am working on a project, I've never been so motivated and actually quite pleased by the look of it. All that to say a big thank you to you for motivating me and inspiring me (and also to my husband :p) 2013 is going to be good! Happy new year!

  6. Thanks Angelica. :) I *think* the duck in that picture might be Penelope's companion, Melvin. Aren't duck's funny though? Since Daffy is a boy too, you probably can relate to the constant quacking, cocked head stares, the following around, and the love-beak-bites.

Sonrie, I will! Right now I'm reading a different book that you might like called COOP. I've read one other Joel Salatin book though, and loved it. As for chickens and snow. Yes. Same here. They'll go in it (with trepidation) after it's all done falling, but if it's still snowing they "coop" themselves up, haha!

Hannah, I'm glad to see that you're still coming by. :)

    Julie, yes. Yes indeeeeeeed. Hehehe.

Maelia, that's so wonderful! I was so excited when I rediscovered painting. There's something so peaceful about it. Can't wait to see what you create. :)

Hannah, good choice. I definitely grew up being taught to idolize her too. ;)
